POLYURÉTHANE DTM 4:1 - PART B (4:1) 3,78L
Product Code: 83ARMB01
Description :
836 Series is based on a tightly crosslinked interpenetrating polymer network of acrylic and polyester urethanes. It is a
very low HAPs, high performance direct-to-metal two component, aliphatic urethane that provides superior gloss and
color retention, excellent chemical resistance, outstanding abrasion resistance and a very high gloss (wet look) finish.
836 Series 4:1 DTM is a two component product with base 836xxA and converter 83ARMB supplied in separate
containers.
Recommended uses :
For DTM application to tank exteriors, trailers, farm machinery, oilfield drilling and service equipment, industrial &
process equipment, and structural steel. 836 Series products may also be used as a chemical resistant, gloss retentive
finish over intermediate epoxy and zinc rich primer systems.

Surfaces preparation
Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease or other contaminants. All mill scale and weld spatter
must be removed for maximum peformance. A minimum SSPC-SP3 Power Tool Cleaning is recommended but an
SSPC-SP6 Commercial Blast Cleaning will provide improved product performance. Non ferrous metals must be washed
and etched with 78100 Clova Clean prior to priming and topcoating
Recommended primer
STEELSelf Priming
CONCRETENot Recommended
GALVANIZED83021 Clova Prime 21 or equivalent
ALUMINUM83021 Clova Prime 21 or equivalent
Recommended tools
AIRLESS SPRAY Speeflo Atlas 30:1 with tip sizes .009" - .013" or equivalent
H.V.L.P Binks Model Mach 1 92 x 95AP (pressure) or equivalent
CONVENTIONAL Binks Model 95GUN 63BSS X 63PB (pressure) or equivalent
BRUSH / ROLLER Brushing is limited to small areas or for touch up.
How to use
Mixing
Mix base A and curing agent B separately with good agitation. Add converter or curing agent B to base component and mix thoroughly until
homogenous. If thinning is necessary or required, proceed only after recommended induction time has passed. Carefully maintain water
traps in all air lines. Humid conditions can lead to condensation during the curing cycle, resulting in loss of gloss. Use of accelerator will
shorten pot life. Refer to accelerator data sheet for recommended levels.
Thinner
C-760-1 Slow Evaporating
C-760-2 Fast Evaporating
SP05434T0 Slow Evaporating; HAPs free
SP3078T0 - Fast Evaporating; HAP's free
Film thickness
Wet: 4 - 6 mils
Dry: 2 - 4 mils
Drying time
Temperature, Relative Humidity, and Film Thickness will affect dry and re-coat times.
Limitations
After 836 Series products have cured for more than 3 days, the surface will require sanding for adhesion purposes for subsequent coats.
For best results apply when the substrate temperature is above 10oC (50oF), and at a minimum of 3oC (5oF) above the dew point. Coating
should not proceed when the relative humidity is above 85%.
